Cryotherapy of warts / skin tags/ Removal of skin tags / moles / skin lesions
Skin tags are very common benign skin growths. Their cause is unknown and they predominantly tend to occur from middle age onwards. They are a common occurrence for many individuals, and while they are not generally a source of pain, discomfort or illness, they can affect a persons confidence and self esteem.
As we grow older, skin tags can tend to form along the neckline, under the arms, beneath the breasts, on the back and on and above the eyelids. Factors that can increase the chances of their development include pregnancy, diabetes, hereditary reasons, or obesity.
Skin Tag Removal
Reasons for removing skin tags are generally for cosmetic purposes, however common reason for removal are when the skin tag is located in an area that can become irritated.
Cryotherapy (also known as cryosurgery) is used for removal of Skin tags, destroying skin tissue by using liquid nitrogen to freeze the skin cells until they die. The liquid nitrogen is applied to the area of skin for a few seconds, depending on the location and diameter of the lesion and the depth of the freeze recommended.
The treatment lasts for less than a minute; and apart from a slight stinging sensation is pain free.
